A passion planted in concrete
Growing up in Chicago, our founder Maya Reeves spent childhood summers watching neighbourhood rooftops go unused, grey slabs baking in the heat, cut off from the greenery that lay just beyond the city limits. That contrast never left her.
After a decade working as a landscape architect for public parks, Maya founded Loft Gardens in 2014 with a clear mandate: design living, sustainable green spaces that slot seamlessly into the rhythm of urban architecture. Not decorative. Not superficial. Genuinely transformative.
Today, Loft Gardens operates from studios in New York and Los Angeles, with a team of 24 designers, horticulturalists, and sustainability consultants who share that original conviction.
